Activities For Families and Young People at New Lands – 2010
Our aim is to support families and young people so that each individual can build a strong connection with the shining light in their hearts. Our activities provide a safe environment where heart-centred values of trust, fun, self-forgiveness, loving respect and compassion can
flourish.
Please click here to read and/or print our leaflet with the details of all our events in 2010.
Our Family Days are held on the first Sunday of the month at New Lands. The days begin with a special Family Service in the beautiful setting of the Temple in a relaxed and warm-hearted circle. Why not come and give it a try!
We welcome and adapt to all ages, and those without children too! Our aim is to make both the services and the afternoon activities fascinating and fun, whilst at the same time nurturing each child or teenager’s understanding of their own link with spirit.
In the afternoons we offer a variety of activities such as craft work, games, yoga, dance, drama or something musical. There is usually the opportunity for parents/carers to enjoy a short time of relaxation or meditation away from the children—time out for you—or to just wander in the beautiful gardens and grounds.
On two of the Family Days each year we offer a special healing service for families and children, at 2pm—the atmosphere of these services is always very gentle and supportive. Our healers are trained to national standards administered by the umbrella body UK Healers.

A new playgroup with a difference - meeting at New Lands during term times on Friday mornings—our friendly group will share ideas on nurturing young children in a loving supportive way. Many of the ideas will be inspired by Steiner philosophy, using natural materials in craft, stories, music and play, as well of course as being inspired by White Eagle's loving and non judgmental teachings. Weather permitting each morning session will include a walk in our beautiful grounds and gardens. The group will meet on Friday mornings in the Temple Meeting Room from 10.00am – 12.15pm and the cost per session will be £3 per parent and child, plus an extra 50p for each additional sibling. All are welcome and the first session will be on 29th January. For more details please email
or ring Bryony Rolf on 01730 266128.
Sunday 7th March and Sunday 3rd October
10.30am – 3.30pm
Two family workshop days, continuing our series 'Creating Spiritual Spaces with Young People'. These days aim to bring together the practical wisdom of a community in parenting from the heart. The theme of both days this year will be the significance of family celebrations, including seasonal celebrations. We usually split into three different age groups, each with their own workshop activity, and all come together for the final session, as well as for a shared vegetarian potluck lunch. Everything is relaxed and informal.
To help us plan the right balance of activities for the day please email if you plan to attend.
There is no charge of the day but donations are welcomed. Please bring a contribution towards a shared vegetarian potluck lunch. Light refreshments available.
Our White Eagle Family Camps offer the opportunity for families with children of any age to spend time in the beautiful surroundings of the Temple and experience a week of spiritual nourishment, friendship and exhilaration (whatever age you are). There is usually good representation of all age groups from very young to older teenagers.
Our theme in 2010 is 'Colours and Light'.
Campers participate in the activities of their choice, which range from active pursuits such as dance, games, water slides and yoga, to creative ones such as arts, crafts and music and including, of course, at the heart of it all, the more contemplative activities such as meditation, spiritually focused talks, discussions and healing. So get out your camping gear and get ready for a unique week of sharing, caring, daring and fun! There is an evening campfire and nights under the stars are magic.
The charge for the camp is £120 per family group, or £80 for families consisting of one parent/one child. This price includes the cost of 3 simple, catered evening meals, plus the use of all the facilities and craft materials. Campers need to bring vegetarian food for the other meals throughout the week and please note that there is an optional group trip out, not included in the price. Full details of the camp are given in the comprehensive information pack. We regret that we cannot accept campers for part of the week only.
Due to the popularity of the Family Camps, priority bookings will be given to members up until the end of February 2010. Non-members may apply before this date and their applications will be considered on a first come basis from the beginning of March if places are still available. We will retain a small allocation of places for non-members coming for the first time. The camp will be limited to approximately 65 campers.
