‘Upanishads'
Saturday and Sunday 21–22 April
Among the meanings behind the word ‘Upanishad’ are ‘sitting near the master’s feet’ and ‘when the mind is allowed to settle’. Among the things that the written Upanishads teach is the discovery of the Self, which is also Brahman or Godhead. They are, in one sense, meditations on reality so constructed as to teach and bring every reader to truth.
Alistair Shearer is one of the foremost modern translators of the Upanishads, the earliest of which was written around 800 BC. In this weekend workshop in collaboration with the Inner Yoga Trust, which is bookable as two separate days, he will take participants on a journey of meaning using one of the oldest languages still used on the earth. It takes further our exploration of ‘esoteric’ truth – for ‘esoteric’ itself is a Greek word for the one who sits down close to the Master. We are privileged to be hosting this inspiring event. Open to all.

‘The Stars and The Work’
Saturday 9 June 10.30 am to 4.00 pm
An astrology day with Simon Bentley. On this day, the anniversary of the birth of Grace Cooke (Minesta), who initiated the work of the White Eagle Lodge, we shall look at the various astrological influences that ‘play upon’ and guide that work. We shall study the various horoscopes most closely associated with the Lodge in a way that will be accessible to those who consider themselves complete beginners in astrology, as well as those who know more, combining insight and enjoyment!
Cost: £20 Open to all.

'White Eagle on the Christian Mysteries'
Sunday 1 July 11.00am–5.00pm
Some of the White Eagle teaching that is most eagerly read concerns what a much-loved early book described as ‘the Christian Mysteries’. Astra Ferro and Colum Hayward take up the challenge of bringing together White Eagle’s teaching on this subject in a day whose themes range from the Book of Revelation to the story of the Holy Grail with the symbol of the life of Jesus of Nazareth at its heart. Bring a vegetarian packed lunch and prebook. Cost: £20. Open to all.

'The Truth about the Cathars'
Saturday 20 October 10.30am–4.00pm
A full day conference on a subject which should fascinate anyone involved in spiritual work with an ‘alternative’ focus—which may feel closer to the heart of Christianity than orthodoxy seems. Following on from our conferences on the legacies of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Sir Francis Bacon, the day features distinguished speakers and should offer compulsive listening to people inside and outside the White Eagle work.
Open to all. Please email the

'Ahimsa - a day of Yoga'
Saturday 3 November 10.30am–4.00pm
A privileged opportunity for a day of yoga with Jenny Beeken and Pauline Sawyer of the Inner Yoga Trust. The day will include asana, pranayama, sanyama (posture, breathing, meditation). Jenny teaches a way of practising movement without strain or pushing the body which reconnects us with the origins of yoga. We look at how our posture has been adapted for our lifestyle, in comparison to Ancient Egyptian and Indian posture.
Cost: £45. Please bring vegetarian packed lunch. Open to all.
