Pleasing progress has been made during 2011 in laying firm foundations for the School of Meditation as part of White Eagle’s Wisdom School.

The school’s purpose is to enrich both the experience and teaching of meditation within White Eagle’s work, but also to make the beauty of this well-tried method more widely accessible.

The school is launching in 2012 a completely new teacher training course in meditation. This will be fully integrated with our existing framework of giving support to White Eagle group and centre leaders, whilst providing a new opportunity for a more comprehensive programme which will also support those teaching in situations outside the White Eagle Lodge, e.g. local authority. It is thus a full vocational course, leading to eventual certification.

Our teacher training comprises a five-day residential course at New Lands, followed by three weekends—you can spread the course over more than one year if this is helpful. There is an additional optional weekend for brothers of the Lodge, who may offer to teach in their Regional Centre. The dates for 2012 are:

• Saturday 11 – Wednesday 15 February (inclusive)
  at New Lands (arrival Friday evening)
• Saturday 10 – Sunday 11 March at the London Lodge
• Saturday 28 – Sunday 29 April at the London Lodge
• Saturday 7 – Sunday 8 July at the London Lodge

The cost of the course is rated at £45 per day, with eleven days of training. (It is possible to pay per weekend or five days.) Accommodation is available at New Lands at our daily rate, and for those requiring accommodation in London we have a list of recommendations with inexpensive options.

We hope that bursaries may be available to support those who earnestly wish to follow this training but might otherwise be prevented.
