The White Eagle Lodge is a registered charity in England & Wales (registered charity number 1156336) and in Scotland (charity number SC045581) and a company limited by guarantee in England & Wales (registered company number 08645252). The Lodge’s governing document is its Memorandum and Articles of Association.

Under charity law the White Eagle Lodge is governed by a board of trustees, who are volunteers. The trustees are also ‘directors’ under company law.

The trustees are jointly responsible for running the charity and managing its assets. They agree the Lodge’s direction, policies, key strategies, overall budget, staffing levels and how we meet our public benefit requirements. The Lodge Mother and Ministers are responsible for the spiritual direction of the Lodge.

The board delegates the day-to-day responsibilities of running the Lodge to the employed senior managers and other staff. The executive staff report to the trustees at regular meetings.
